Phantom Shield (Alteration/Illusion)

Description: : This spell, when cast, creates a quasi-real shield. The semi-illusionary shield protects the caster as a normal shield would unless it is actively disbelieved by the opponent (save versus spell), or else a dispel illusion or dispel magic spell is cast upon it, or a wand of negation affects it. Until gone the shield adds +1 to the casters AC, like a normal shield would. For each level of the caster the shield will absorb 1 hit point of damage for each hit that would hit the casters modified AC. Note that if worn in conjunction with Phantom Armor the shield will dissolve before the Armor is affect, as long as the Armor is cast before the Shield is cast. When the shield has absorbed its maximum number of hit points of damage it is negated. The shield does not affect movement or spell casting ability. It also allows a +1 on all saves. It is not subject to rust monster attacks. The spell will not function with any other form of magic protection, except Phantom Armor.
